National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS)

• ✓Students who have passed Class 8 from a government or government-aided school
• ✓Family income below ₹1.5 lakh per annum
• ✓Students with at least 55% marks in Class 7 (50% for SC/ST students)
• ✓Students currently enrolled in Class 9 at a government or government-aided school
• ✓Must qualify the State-level NMMS examination conducted by SCERT

• ✗Students studying in private unaided schools
• ✗Students in Kendriya Vidyalayas, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, or Sainik Schools
• ✗Students whose family income exceeds ₹1.5 lakh per annum
• ✗Students who do not clear the state NMMS selection examination
• ✗Students enrolled in residential government schools where boarding and lodging are borne by the state

2. 2Register as a fresh applicant
3. 3Select 'National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship'
4. 4Enter NMMS examination roll number and merit details
5. 5Fill academic and income details and upload documents
6. 6Submit before the deadline. Renewal required every year

Offline / CSC

1. 1Contact your State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) for NMMS examination schedule
2. 2Appear in the state-level NMMS examination held every year (usually November)
3. 3On selection, apply through your school to the district education officer
4. 4Submit income and academic documents as required
