Eligibility

Who Can Apply

  • All domestic electricity consumers in Karnataka with a valid single-phase or three-phase domestic connection
  • Households consuming up to 200 units per month receive full benefit (zero bill)
  • Households consuming above 200 units are charged only for the excess units beyond 200
  • Both rural and urban domestic consumers are covered
  • Consumers under all Karnataka DISCOMs (BESCOM, MESCOM, GESCOM, HESCOM, CESC)

Who Cannot Apply

  • Commercial, industrial, or agricultural electricity connections
  • Households with more than one domestic meter at the same premises
  • Consumers who have not linked their Aadhaar with the electricity connection (required for continued benefit)

How to Apply

Online

  1. Visit gruhalyoti.karnataka.gov.in
  2. Enter your electricity consumer number and Aadhaar details
  3. Complete Aadhaar seeding to activate the benefit
  4. No further application is needed; benefit is automatically reflected in your monthly bill

Offline / CSC

  1. Visit your nearest DISCOM office (BESCOM, MESCOM, GESCOM, HESCOM, or CESC)
  2. Carry your Aadhaar card and electricity consumer number
  3. Request Aadhaar seeding with your connection
  4. Once seeded, the free 200 units benefit is applied automatically from the next billing cycle

Frequently Asked Questions
