Eligibility
Who Can Apply
- Students belonging to minority communities (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi)
- West Bengal domicile students
- Pre-Matric: Students in Class 1–10 with at least 50% marks in previous exam
- Post-Matric: Students in Class 11 and above including degree, diploma, and professional courses
- Merit-cum-Means: Students in degree-level professional/technical courses with at least 50% marks
- Family annual income below ₹2.5 lakh (Pre/Post-Matric) or ₹2.5 lakh (Merit-cum-Means)
Who Cannot Apply
- Students not belonging to notified minority communities
- Students whose family income exceeds ₹2.5 lakh per annum
- Students attending unrecognized institutions
- Students already receiving full scholarship from another source for the same course
- Non-WB domicile students
Benefits
- Pre-Matric: ₹1,100–₹1,125/month (hostellers) or ₹380–₹400/month (day scholars)
- Post-Matric: Up to ₹7,000/month for hostellers depending on course level
- Merit-cum-Means: Up to ₹1 lakh/year for professional courses
- Annual maintenance and book allowance included
- Direct bank transfer to student's account
Documents Required
- Aadhaar Card
- West Bengal domicile certificate or voter ID
- Minority community certificate (from competent authority)
- Income certificate (below ₹2.5 lakh)
- Previous year marksheet (minimum 50% marks)
- School/college enrollment certificate
- Bank passbook (student's own account, Aadhaar-linked)
- Passport size photograph
How to Apply
Online
- Visit wbmdfcscholarship.in or scholarships.gov.in (National Scholarship Portal)
- Register as a new student applicant
- Select the appropriate Aikyashree component (Pre-Matric / Post-Matric / Merit-cum-Means)
- Fill academic, personal, and income details
- Upload scanned documents and submit before the deadline
- Track application status using registration number
Offline / CSC
- Collect form from your school, college, or district minority affairs office
- Fill the form with required documents
- Submit through your institution to the district education or minority affairs officer
